- the Norwegian Marine Technology Research Institute – is a limited company in the SINTEF Group that performs research, development and research-based advisory services in the maritime sector for companies in the field of marine technology. We develop and verify technological solutions for the shipping and marine equipment industries, for offshore petroleum production and renewable energy. MARINTEK’s headquarters are in Trondheim, Norway, with subsidiaries in Houston/TX, USA and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

MARINTEK, together with NTNU, hosted the Second International Conference on Ship Manoeuvring in Shallow and Confined Water, Ship-to-Ship Interaction, in May 2011 The Second International Symposium on Marine Propulsors took place in Hamburg, Germany, on June 15-17, 2011. The symposium was organised by TUHH (Hamburg University of Technology) and STG (German Society for Maritime Technology), in cooperation with MARINTEK and NTNU. (Read more in this information folder.)
